About WSCA

The Washington School Counselor Association is a dynamic professional organization that has officially served school counselors of Washington since 1965. The Washington School Counselor Association (WSCA) expands the image and influence of professional school counselors through advocacy, leadership, collaboration and systemic change at the state level. WSCA empowers professional school counselors with the knowledge, skills, linkages, and resources to promote student success in the school, the home, the community, and the world.

In addition to periodicals, professional development and peer networking, WSCA provides state and national level advocacy to ensure awareness of our profession in an effort to increase and sustain employment opportunities for professional school counselors.

Washington Framework for Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling

Our framework is undergoing a process of revision to bring it in line with the new ASCA National Model Implementation Guide and the third edition of the ASCA National Model. 
As part of this process we have begun to collect initiatives, legislation, and other elements that are unique to Washington State and need to be embedded in our comprehensive school counseling programs.  Our goal is to further will assist Washington state school counselors in implementing the ASCA National Model.
