Implementing the Washington Comprehensive School Counseling Model – aka ASCA model training:

In this hands-on workshop, you will: Explore the program components of FOUNDATION-DELIVERY-MANAGEMENT-ACCOUNTABILITY Complete the School Counseling Program Assessment. Use the results of that data to celebrate strengths and make plans to begin implementation of a comprehensive counseling program Through discussion and opportunities to use the tools within the model, you'll discover how to align your data driven school counseling program with the mission of the district or school and create answers for the questions: "How is student achievement increased as a result of what school counselors do?" and "How are students different as a result of the school counseling program?

Dr. Brian Mathieson is a K12 School Counseling Specialist with Vancouver Public Schools (VPS) and a Lead Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) Reviewer.  Prior to becoming a district specialist, Mathieson spent 13 years as a high school counselor, two years as an elementary counselor, and three years as a district prevention specialist.  His team at Dobson High School in Arizona earned RAMP designation.  In 2015, he presented "Clean Out Your Clutter and Prioritize" at the ASCA Annual Conference and in 2016 shared the same presentation in the ASCA Webinar Series.  Mathieson is a passionate leader who currently serves as President of the Washington School Counselors Association (WSCA).  You can find him on Twitter at @MathiesonBri.
